Funny

This movie sure brings a few good laughs but the fighting could be worked on. For the background, I like the first background with the moon, I think you could have used that instead of the other one you used for the actual fighting stage. When Ken and Terry were fighting, I think there was an overuse of the same sound and graphics, a variation could make it a whole lot better. The ending felt a little abrupt but I guess it was okay. Overall this was a pretty good sprite movie despite the decent fighting it had. There's a potential for a sequel such as involving a different character.

It gives me the chills!

Good music, sound, and graphics. You have potential to make part 2 of this movie a lot better. Some areas you can work on is animating more on the background, adding a few more details and improving the animations. Although I noticed that you animated the light particles, more of this kind of details can really add to your movie! I also like how you have voices, it made this movie more alive. The chime sounds in the beginning set the mood gave it a scary movie feeling, although it was a little slow it didn't hurt the movie too much. Oh and I was wondering why there were blood stains in the Alien tank ( don't they clean it?) and they used tape to put the information on the alien, being Area 51, a top secret and advance agency, you would expect they be more advanced and clean. Anyways, keep up the good work and I didn't think this was too short if this was a series like Area 51 - The Spread, or some sequel like that. Good luck on your future movies!

Don't give up!

This is a start. I see that you were experimenting with some effects and voice overs, but I know that you'll learn how to improve, eventually!

And I have! I didn't give up xD

Animators Unite!

I really like the idea you got here in this movie, even though it came from a dream lol, because about 3 years ago I had a similar idea of making a Newgrounds movie about a NG war, but anyways that's the past.
Despite the decent animation and lack of sound effects, the use of music and storytelling through actions made it just barely work. The animations of course could be better, but I guess the length of it made up for it. You did a good job referring to popular artist here at NG, and the animations were pretty good, like the character from Waterlollies. The music choice of using that Sephiroth song seemed a little repeatitive at times and I'm sure there are better songs out there to replace it. The first song, Requiem of a Dream was an okay match, it did express its drama but not exactly its action for the invasion that was going on. The fighting could be better of course, nonetheless you were able to get your story going through with simple animations. It seems like you put most of yoru effor tin making that fight with that stick guy, and of course the Naruto reference, but I don't blame you. Overall, good job, its always nice to see NG related movies that only NG fans can truly appreciate.

Catchy

Although I don't know much about Gypsies and Electro pianos this video sure brings up a resemblance of a Hitler-look-alike singer and advertisement for Yamaha products and the selling of this song. I would personally buy this song, but it's so much funner watching this video and hear song here. You have made good use of your flash skills in helping sell something. Although most Jewish people or anti Nazi sentiments people may have against Hitler, it's a creative idea to play around with that idea and have fun of it. Generally speaking, I like your animation style it's smooth, simple and effective in portraying movements. Although I enjoyed the animation that went along with the music video, I can't help but to ask for more 'random' elements in the mix, like the reference to the Matrix. Overall, good work! I enjoy the humor and the childish aesthetics in your movies, I'll be expecting more movies from you!

Good Start

You made a good use of the flash effects and it looks like it's starting to work. The ending was okay, it wasn't so dramatic, perhaps have the classic "pick your ending" choice at the end instead of a draw. Although there's no plot or story necessary for a good sprite animation fight, having something that draws people into the characters can add to the flash movie.
Keep up the good work!

wizzzi responds:

yeah i thinking to put "pick your ending" but for me the best is the classic too draw xD

tanks,and thanks for review

Good Start

It's an interesting series you got going here. Although undoubtedly influence from DBZ is evident here, with the sound effect and fighting sequences. I also notice some similarities with the plot and menu with the Super Mario bros Z series, correct me if I'm wrong, 7 orbs with 7 Chaos Emeralds? The fights aren't bad, it could be worked on more with more animations like others had already said. I know that there aren't that many sprites for each character, but that's where creative takes it from there right? The file size seems to be too big for the length of the movie, perhaps it's the picture format you're using for the flash movie or the uncompressed music, if you need help on that you can always look it up or you can ask me if you want for I'm familiar with it. The text shouldn't be required to be pressed to continue, although it's a real problem, it is just preferred for most viewers not to click while watching.
The LF2 sprite sheets you used sure were interesting and the LF2 sprite sheets from various mod I have never seen or heard of before. It's a good use of resources, if you continue hunting for sprites and backgrounds, your movie will surely contain many interesting characters and backgrounds which will expand your creativity choices.
Good luck with the series, and I'll be seeing the next episode of the series>
Oh and it wouldn't be a bad idea to number your movies, I couldn't tell which one was which until I saw the submission date of the movie.

First good battletoads flash video I've seen

The style of this movie reflects your style, the interactivity that allows the viewer to pick the ending, not just one time, but three times. Although I got to admit, it is a real drag to to re-watch the movie if you picked the wrong portal for the ending, it just makes me watch it again. I like the humor for this movie, especially the ending, it felt complete. I especially liked the boss fight, it really did feel like playing the game, but the animations done makes it come to life more with a more fluid movement. Perhaps there could have been a scene selection menu, but it is not at all necessary, but it would help though. It's good to see someone making sprite movies that people don't usually make before, Battletoads is one good example in contrast to the common mario/zelda sprite movies. I look forward to your future movies as you release them, and I may this movie be recognized by people more, since it's worth watching more than once.

cool

that was some unique choice of art you used there. It is kinda weird, and the animations are hard to concentrate at, but at the end, it was all good. I liked how everything is FBF, that must be some hard work to be done there.

dang!

This is the best sprite movie I've seen. I mean it is that best kind of sprite movie that is so enjoyable, quick paced fighting, instead of story story story. I like sprite movies that concentrate on intense action instead of anything else really. I liked how you worked the background and made your own sprites (if you did). You picked the right song and synced the fighting correctly. You are on my favorite movie, but I am suspecious that you have no profile, this is your first movie, it took you two weeks, you don't respond to reviews, to be suspecious, not because one of them you do, but because all of them it is. This movie is underrated when it came out, as you can see, it got a daily second. But now the score is 4.22, and I'm sure it would get a weekly award if this keeps up.

Proxicide responds:

Hey, thanks for the compliment. It would be daunting to reply to every post (there's over 400), but I do carefully read each one and gauge the level of interest of the reviewer, and what he likes or dislikes (so that I can improve on the next one). I really appreciate the feedback. I might throw in my profile later on if people are that curious.

Little Fighter Alpha Ch.10 is out! I apologize to any fan who waited this long for this! Chapter 11 is currently in production!
