Just like the old days
Flash games for awhile has been topping old NES games by the advancing programming of Flash and Action script codes. But in truth, creators of Flash games are advancing and making better games these days too. This game reminds me of the classic games of NES and Super Nintendo in which the goal of the game is simple using a simple game play. This game is enjoyable, but I can't help but say I was a little stuck in the beginning and the use keyboard buttons only added to the frustration, but once I got a hold of it things went on smooth. Speaking of smooth, I know that you're trying to make the old simplistic pixelated look, but I can't help myself but say that using smooth vector graphics in flash wouldn't have hurted your purpose of making this look like an old console game. Some of animations and graphics could have been done better even though the pixelated look may have held it back. Sometimes the game felt too quiet (except at the beginning when the explosion occured) so I would say it could have used more interactive sounds when you check something. In addition, occasionally I would forget what item I got and I wish I could click on the item and check what the item is or where I got it from. Overall, I enjoy this simplistic game that brings back old memories, a simple yet slightly challenging game that will make the player wonder what each object in game has to say.
I like this kind of casual games in which it involves just clicking, no rush whatsoever although there's a bonus timer. The visuals were nice, music fitting, sound clear and nto to mention the voice of Sam was well done. The only level I had a harder time was when you have to please the woman because I kept thinking she was satisfied with the flower, then with hitting the wall. Although the first level was the hardest one because you have a higher chance of dying. I wish the game was longer but I think it would have dragged on if it was, so it's all good. I like how the last stage combines all the elements from the previous stages. I can't help to think whether the movie 10,000 BC influenced you to make some aspects of the game, like the saber tooth tiger. Overall it was an entertaining game, I expect more games of this kind in the future.
Good game to learn how to type fast
I like this game how it looks like a shooting and plays like a typing game. It's quite a unique idea actually, I haven't seen it done before. Although ti was challenging to type really fast and catch up with the incoming monsters at the Grandmaster level, I had trouble sometimes looking at the words when it was covered by an item or a neighboring goblin, but it's probably just me not typing fast enough to get rid of it in the first place. I think this game can be made harder by including other typing characters, numbers and Capitals, but that would just be too hard. The point is to keep it simple and fun right? I think it achieved that.
Simple yet entertaining game.
Despite the lack of features or originality some of the people are saying on the previous comments, I think this game successfully brings entertainment to the player for hours to come. My favorite part about this game is learning which combination will effectively kill the monsters the fastest and the awards make it rewarding. I also did notice the level II cheating method of just building as many canons and buildings then quitting and repeating teh process again to get the awards, but you can't help it, it's part of the game right? I only wish there were more canons too. I have yet to get the 100k gatherer award, I do agree with some of the users below me, it should be cut down to 50,000, 100k just seems impossible. I'll be expecting future games from you and see if it can live up to this game. Overall this was a fun game.
The music and sound kept looping and it made it annoying, also it wasn't very fun after 3 tries. The graphics are nice though, but I guess you didn't put them into better use.
whoa, nice graphics
now that had some awesome graphics. Sure, it is loaded with actionscripts to have those effects, but it takes color mixing and drawing the objects first. My favorite one was the fire, it looked the most realistic to me and "cool". The most whacky crazy one was the multiple mouses. I think the two mouses sucked! Overall the graphics were the nicest I've seen for a game, if its even considered one. Goodjob, can't wait to see your other future work.
It was alright
it was alright, but no preloader? Make the background black! It makes it seem that you dont have a preloader and can't tell the percentage %. There were some errors like going to the next frame when clicking a sound, also the background music was kinda annoying. If you fixed the preloader, maybe this would have lived.
I fixed it but I guess it may be too late, besides, if you blam something for not having a preloader then, I dont know where Im going with this, but it's dumb to.
I gave up
I gave up after the first stage, for I was stuck and I used the hint button, lol. I really dont like doing matching in a computer screen, is bad for the eyes. I see there is some effort put in it atleast. Better luck next time.
been done before
this definetly been done before, but it won't hurt being made by another user in another way. Those effects were pretty cool, especially the "change eye color" looked pretty cool. Surely took you some time taking screenshots, lots of them. Make another tutorial thats more well organized with interactiveness, you'll get a higher score. You're teaching about photoshop effects, yet your menu is all plain...?
jus to tell u there only mine and this other guys tut on newgrounds and his different from mine but thx for 7/10
those colors really get into your eyes after a while. The game is also frustrating, its kinda boring, that's what im really saying. I think you shouldn have it all small at the beginning, itshould be like a 5 by 5, like waaaay easier.
