Don't give up!

This is a start. I see that you were experimenting with some effects and voice overs, but I know that you'll learn how to improve, eventually!

Aqlex responds:

And I have! I didn't give up xD

Good Start

You made a good use of the flash effects and it looks like it's starting to work. The ending was okay, it wasn't so dramatic, perhaps have the classic "pick your ending" choice at the end instead of a draw. Although there's no plot or story necessary for a good sprite animation fight, having something that draws people into the characters can add to the flash movie.
Keep up the good work!

wizzzi responds:

yeah i thinking to put "pick your ending" but for me the best is the classic too draw xD

tanks,and thanks for review

dang!

This is the best sprite movie I've seen. I mean it is that best kind of sprite movie that is so enjoyable, quick paced fighting, instead of story story story. I like sprite movies that concentrate on intense action instead of anything else really. I liked how you worked the background and made your own sprites (if you did). You picked the right song and synced the fighting correctly. You are on my favorite movie, but I am suspecious that you have no profile, this is your first movie, it took you two weeks, you don't respond to reviews, to be suspecious, not because one of them you do, but because all of them it is. This movie is underrated when it came out, as you can see, it got a daily second. But now the score is 4.22, and I'm sure it would get a weekly award if this keeps up.

Proxicide responds:

Hey, thanks for the compliment. It would be daunting to reply to every post (there's over 400), but I do carefully read each one and gauge the level of interest of the reviewer, and what he likes or dislikes (so that I can improve on the next one). I really appreciate the feedback. I might throw in my profile later on if people are that curious.

it was okay

except the fact that you submitted this same movie and changed it to that 'somewhere I belong Trailer'. The text was pretty long, voices would be good, but at the same time, worsen. The battles were okay, I mean sprites are pretty limited unless you make your own. Also I noticed that you co-authored 2 random guys that I don't recall being co-authored for this same movie yesturday. I got my eyes on you.

DanyLaporte responds:

hehe!! pretty wierd review lol!! but I like it!! First, yes, this movies was sent yesterday.....but it had major problem so i had to fix it...and I didnt want it to get a damn pretty low score...So I cahnged it for a old movie.... Yes, yesterday when I sent the video, I had forgot to put the to co-authors name...but I cahnged it after like 5minutes.... Lol!! ( i got my eyes on you )!!!

Wow... I think it's time for me to review this.

Great movie man, before I review your movie I want to congratulate on your Weekly 4th, Daily 3rd, and of course the 300k viewed. Also good job for being able to finish this movie, obviously its big and good in quality and quantity. Obviously Tom liked it, because he let you submmit a file bigger than 5mb. I see this is your first movie to ever get front page.

Story - 9 - Too bad there isn't a grade for this, but I'm writing down my opinion anyways. The only reason I gave this a 9 it's because the story and situation is kinda overused, but neverless it was great. I liked it how you added violence to this "love" story, most movies of this type doesn't have violence, but hey you did it. You sure made the situation and circumstance possible to have a couple of fights in this, by having the main character go through the gate without having a train ticket. This plot is very different from your other movies, especially comparing to your well-knowned movie "Secret Mansion", it is nice to try something new sometimes, and sure enough, you suprised us with an emotional movie, away from all the blood and gore.

Style - 9 - Your style is pretty neat, it may be simple but you turned it into something complex. For example, frame-by-frame was used for this style, it is quite hard to do FBF even with this simpler style. Your characters are pretty detailed and has characteristics in their faces that you can recognize them, like this guy inside the train, I think he looked like Travis from SM1. I also liked how you shaded the objects and characters, it adds a more realistic cartoon characteristics and makes the FBF angle change more cooler. I see how you have kept your style throughout all your works, that's cool, don't fix something that isn't broken.

Sound - 8 - heh heh, there isn't really much to talk about, since you only used one song for this movie. I like Franz Ferdinand's songs, not as much but enough to listen tot hem. The song itself its pretty original since I don't think I have seen a movie with this song ever before. Why did I gave it an 8? It's because you sync it pretty well, you timed the scenes and mood changes just right and that's a big plus. Some movies just put in a movie after they finished the scene, and what are they chances of that being rhymed and paced right.

Violence - 2 - I'm glad you didn't add "too much" blood, it would have ruined the mood of this movie. You added just enough violence to show that buy's desperation and hope for that girl. Although I would have wanted more blood and gore, I would rather see it in your future movie SM2. I liked how the main character know and did all these crazy moves, kick and punches all over the place, giving bloody noses and bruises.

Interactivity - 6 - Ahahaha, this deserves a 1 because your preloader was sooooo plain. No, I'm giving it a 6 because of your FBF, that's interactivity. I know how long it takes for FBF, it takes like 2 hours for like 5 frames, and that would be like 0.2 seconds depending on your frame rate. You obviously have a lot of FBF in this movie, although some people don't even notice it (probably never used flash before). As a flash artist, I understand the difficulty of perspectiveness, shape, color, and such things involve with flash.

Humor - 2 - originally a 0, but you did added some funny parts. Like when the main character threw a tray at this big bad black dude and he catches it, he acts all bad but then got jumped over. Another part I thought it was kinda funny was when the first fight, where that guy beats up like all 3 guys, that was hilerious because those guys were getting their ass kicked.

Favorite scene - That would be when after the 1st fight, when he runs, facing forward. It was my favorite scene because of the perspective and FBF.

Summary - Good job on this movie, it was another success for you. Can't wait for your SM2, for your skills get better and better and keeps improving from the old. Keep up the good work AligatorHead.

AligatorHead responds:

Lol, i find that kinda funny how OUT OF NO WHERE you review this haha. Well you keep up your work too. Well thanks for such elaborative review. It gives me an idea of what to do next. Yeah, Sm 2 will be ahit, ig ot aobut 4 and a half minutes. Shoot, i gotta finish it. Henceforth i shall eat pizza then work on my secret mansion.

It was a decent collab.

A collab made up of decent users? An author that responds to reviews? Oh what the heck, I guess this is worth reviewing detaily. Oh and I'm also reviewing because I know UndercoverStudios.
Plain preloader eh? Well... atleast it has a plain start button when you press play.
I'll review this collab by each scene, since its pretty hard to tell who I'm talking to I'll make up a title for each scene. I'll also rate each scene by a score out of 5.

1. Airplane - 3.5/5 - A rocket dropped frame by frame, its kinda simple though. The guy in the airplane is kinda off from the proportion comparing to the airplane. Also he has an angry smile when he is hit?

2. Seal - 2/5 - A guy beating up a seal with a bat. The blood did not look real because it onyl had one shading.

3. Crazy - 2/5 - A guy drinks this thing and goes crazy and walks to the beat up seal?

4. Blow up - 2.5/5 - Madness style, a guy seats in the bench and this other guy comes by and grabs a remote control on the ground and blows up the guy's head. The blood's animation looks better than the seal's blood animation.

5. Dodge - 2.5/5 - Hmm, decent walking animations, good jumping timing and speed. Good, you made the moving of the road a movieclip, to prevent lag.

6. The Ant - 2/5 - The ant is waving and suddently a bird coems by and takes his head? Again, the blood animation and color is decent.

7. Spill - 1/5 - A guy spills something pink on the ground? I'm starting to think its like FBF for every animation.

8. Spaceship - 1/5 - probably one of the worst, its just a ship dodging lasers. This has the least FBF.

9. Arrows - 2/5 - Nice explosion FBF, I liked the arrows shooting at this blue thing and exploded. Finally something normal.

10. Seizures - 1/5 - This is equality as bad as the "Spaceship" one because of the seizure, black and white thing. Yes it hurts!

11. Allergies - 3/5 - lol, you just had to make the cat with wheel legs so you don't have to FBF/Motion tween the walking. Throwing up FBF was decent. How can a man throw up that much!

12. Skateboarding - 2.5/5 - aah, skateboarding. The only FBF I see is when he hits and gets hit.

13. Blue - 1/5 - booooring

14. Bomb - 3/5 - Nice FBF of changing the perspective. The man gets hit with a bomb or something but only his top body is gone? Obviously not enough blood.

15. Smoking - 2.5/5 - Aw... you didn't show the actual beating up, only showing him beat up an already beated up man.

16. Sticks - 3.5/5 - probably my favs. Good FBF explosion smoke effects and it was pretty smooth. The only thing I hated was the random cratches of colors that suppost to be the blowned up van.

17. Panda - 1/5 - booo! Almost my least favorite, it had too , the least FBF.

18. Mario - 2.5/5 - this was like the only one that had humor in it, and also text letters. You couldn't draw the box thingies, I noticed they were sprites. I guess the collab was due, so couldn't really perfect everything huh.

19. Chicken - 3.5/5 - yepeeee, a chicken to the mooooon. I liked the look of the rocket. The only FBF was the smoke huh?

20. Credits - 3.5/5 - not many people have credit songs, or even credits! It was simple but atleast you had it with simple effects.

Yay! I'm finally done. Yes... it took a while. I noticed that UncoverStudios only had 1 animation? Oh well, I'll ask him personally about it. By the way, why was the music on event! Atleast start, although I prefer on stream setting, whenever I paused the song just kept going. The song selection was okay, not my fav songs, but it was better than others I've heard. It had pretty good music synching, but sometimes it was off, I guess its hard to have it right when like 4 different guys are working on different parts. Well, if you ever make another collab, I'll be reviewing it I guess.

BritishMoose responds:

i was thinking of not replying for a joke...but i figured that would be harsh xD thanks for the review, u obviously took a lot of time with it =P

Improving!

You sure are improving fast, I mean it wasn't too long ago since you submitted episode 1 of this series. Nice, you finally added real voices instead of recorded ones and subtitles. I see you gave co-author credit to your voice actors, that's really nice, and I hope you will get an award to encourage you for your next episode. Vegetto's voice is very nice, your voice actor of Goku and Vegeto did a good job timing it correctly. I have one problem with the voices though, Gohan's voice did not match, it was too soft and wasn't deep enough, that's why he didn't get the co-author credit huh? Nice preloader, with Vegetto charging up. Your animations to have greatly improve, and I noticed some FBF, like when Vegetto was turning around. Its always good to have FBF, keep practicing and you might master it eventually. Everyone was nicely drawn except that kid's name, uh I forgot his name, Goten? His face was right, but when you moved his eyes he looked quite funny, maybe make his eyes move faster in lesser frames. It looked like he was looking something moving by slowly. Anyways, good movie, it was a lil bit short but sometimes quality is better than quantity.

Majin-Ryan responds:

Thanks man:D im really glad you liked it, the voice actor for Gohan hasnt got his name on the co-authors cause i forgot to ask him for his ng alias:/ sorry, but thanks for the review:D

lol!

Finally a good numa-numa parody. After all those craps I've seen about numa-numa, this is definetly the best and I don't think no others will ever top that. Although the animations were a little choppy at the beginning, its still cool. You really did a good job drawing and maknig fun of that numa-numa guy. Why did Paula like him anyways. One thing that kinda bothered me right away was that they didn't blink.

Dustball responds:

Thanks. Ithought it would be funny for Randy and Paula to love him, and then SImon to hate him. Everybody blinks! Some, quite a bit too.

it was okay

it wasn't as good as DBZ: is that okay? Your characters were distorted most of the time and sound quality was low, you should raise to have the exact sound quality from the show! And when gohan turned mystik, you used his kid scream not his adult! Man that sounded funny. It would have been great if you fixed the proportion and have better sound quality.

Majin-Ryan responds:

Thanks for the reivew, i actually used the power up for Gohan from when he fights Brolly when he was older:S, you can't really tell though lol

a tutorial with voices

Wow, a tutorial with voices, but was it for the better or worst? You actually have the layout for your next episode lol, wouldn't it be better for the audience if you actually finished that. You should have re-recorded some lines, but oh well it gave that feeling as though you were guiding through it live! Overall the tutorial you have made are either known to people already, or some people never use them. Oh well....

luminousnerd responds:

Yea, I'm gonna come out with more, better ones pretty quick here

Little Fighter Alpha Ch.10 is out! I apologize to any fan who waited this long for this! Chapter 11 is currently in production!
